“I think it’s very healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and not be defined by another person.”– Oscar Wilde

 It was Tuesday, July 28th, 2020 that I went to the designated Covid-19 test center for swap test as part of the procedures to work at a customer's location. The time was 9 am but I arrived at the test center by 8 am.

The test started with the filling of my details and questions about my health status was asked, at the end, I went into the laboratory for the test proper. The process of collecting the test sample from the mouth and nose was so disgusting and painful, especially the nose. It was so painful I was screaming like a baby.

At the end of the test, I proceeded to the company’s quarantine center pending when the result is out. If the result is negative you resume work, if it is positive you are relocated to the government assigned isolation facility for further care and treatment.

The three days that proceeded before the result came out was something else for me. I thought about what will happen if the result is positive, it means that all my contacts will be traced and isolated. I had contacts with following before the test;

v  My family members

v  My neighbors

v  The driver that drove me from Lagos to the customer location

v  The hotel I slept the day before the test

v  The driver that drove me from the hotel to the test center and then to the quarantine center.

The result came out on Friday night 31st July 2020 and it was negative. I was relieved big time and resumed work the next day.
